New Blade Blog

As Scott points out, Aaron has made a promising start with his new Blade focused blog*

Welcome, Aaron – I’ve already found something useful on your site and may need to rethink one of my blade deployment plans slightly!

*Edited 10/2/08 to update link for Aaron’s new URL

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I have transitioned the site over to something permanent. The site is now http://www.bladevault.info.

Check it out if you get a chance!

Also, I’d still love to hear how those HP Quad cards in ESX turned out for you. Thanks!

    Cool, I’ll update the links

They arrived *finally* this week and its now racked and powered – will be installing ESX on Monday so will let you know what I find.

I looked back over the original spec I did and for some reason that I can’t remember I switched the spec from Broadcom to Intel at somepoint, have a feeling I’m going to regret that one!

Sounds good! It is pretty easy to tell. The card that wasn’t supported didn’t show up in the Networking Config for the ESX server in Virtual Center. All you saw were the two on-board nics.

We swapped them out and the correct ones were seen right away at first boot. No config was required.

    Good Luck!

Just an update to this, yep cards didn’t show up under ESX – so going to swap them with the supplier
